Travel Photographer Asia, the ultimate travel photography contest for professional and amateur travel photographers who have travelled in Asia. This photo contest aims to highlight the vibrancy of the people, places, food and festivals in Asia.
Our aim is to reach out to the large amateur and professional photography community in the region and showcase their talent.
Rahman is based in Kuala Lumpur and his major interests are social and humanity photography. His work possesses sensitive and cognitive styles. He is one of a few young and emerging Asian photographers who has been chosen to attend the prestigious workshops at the Angkor Photography Festival . His work has been published extensively, including in Reuters, Agence France Press, European Pressphoto Agency, TIME magazine, New York Times, International Herald Tribune, Ojodepez, The National UAE, Sutra Magazine, The New Internationalist, Berita Harian Singapore and Strait Times Singapore. In his personal capacity , he is currently investigating the relationships between Islam and its impact on cultures around South East Asia.
Based in New York City, Tewfic El-Sawy is a freelance photographer and the founder of popular The Travel Photographer blog. He documents endangered cultures and traditional life ways of Asia, Latin America and Africa, and his images, articles and photo features were published in various magazines and are featured by some of the largest adventure travel companies in the United States and Great Britain, as well as in multinational corporations' art collections. Passionate about documentary-travel photography, he also produce multimedia stories, merging still photography and ambient sound. He teaches street photography and multimedia storytelling at the Foundry Photojournalism Workshop.He also plans, organizes and leads photo-expeditions.
